What Is Special Re-entry Permission?

Special Re-entry Permission is a system that allows you to return to Japan under your current status of residence even if you temporarily leave the country.
No special application is required; you can use this system simply by completing a brief procedure at the airport upon departure.

[How to Complete the Procedure]
Before going through immigration, fill out the “Re-entry/Exit Record (ED Card)” available at the airport.
Check the box on the card that says “This is a temporary departure, and I plan to re-enter,” then submit it to the immigration officer.

・You cannot re-enter Japan after your period of stay has expired.
