If you move, you’ll need to update your address, but you don’t need to go directly to the Immigration Services Agency of Japan.
If you submit a “Notification of Moving In” at the municipal office of your new address within 14 days of moving, your Residence Card address will be updated as part of that process.
When completing the procedure, be sure to bring your Residence Card and Certificate of Moving Out.
If you have a passport or My Number Card, it’s a good idea to bring those as well.
Please note that if you do not update your address within 14 days, it may affect the renewal or change of your status of residence, so please be careful.
After moving, be sure to notify your accepting company (employer) and the Registered Support Organization of your new address.
